The Advanced Acoustics HexaPanel Wall Mounted Designer Acoustic Panel is a hexagonal acoustic panel from the Advanced Acoustics Designer Range. The regular hexagonal format allows panels to be arranged in tessellating grids, honeycomb patterns, or scattered compositions across a wall surface, providing both acoustic absorption and a distinctive geometric visual element. The panel consists of a 25mm Class '0' open-cell acoustic foam core mounted on a rigid 6mm MDF backing board, wrapped in a 100% recycled open-weave polyester cloth available in 31 colours.

The HexaPanel measures 610 × 528mm across its flat-to-flat dimensions, providing 0.28m² of absorption per panel. The hexagonal format is suited to a wide range of installation types — from small accent clusters to full feature wall tessellations — and is appropriate for offices, meeting rooms, educational environments, hospitality venues, and sports facilities. The 25mm foam core achieves NRC 0.75 (Sound Absorption Class C), providing effective absorption of mid and high frequencies appropriate for controlling speech-frequency reverberation.

Applications

• Tessellating grid and honeycomb installations. The regular hexagonal format allows panels to be arranged in seamless tessellating grids across a wall surface, creating a honeycomb pattern that scales from a small cluster to a full feature wall. The geometric regularity of the tessellation provides a clean, structured visual finish that suits both contemporary office and educational interiors.
• Open-plan offices — reverberation and echo control. Install on walls to reduce reverberation time and improve speech intelligibility. The HexaPanel's geometric format allows the installation to be precisely sized to the available wall area, with panels added or removed to achieve the required coverage without leaving awkward gaps at the edges of the installation.
• Meeting rooms and conference spaces. The HexaPanel is suited to meeting rooms and boardrooms where a geometric acoustic installation is preferred over a standard rectangular panel grid. A honeycomb arrangement on one or two walls can provide the required absorption coverage while creating a distinctive visual feature.
• Educational environments — classrooms and sports halls. The HexaPanel provides effective absorption of speech frequencies in educational environments. The geometric format is well suited to sports halls and assembly spaces where a robust, visually structured acoustic installation is required across large wall areas.
• Hospitality and commercial interiors. The hexagonal format and wide colour range make the HexaPanel suited to hospitality environments — restaurants, bars, and hotel lobbies — where a geometric acoustic installation can be specified to complement the interior design scheme.
• Multi-colour compositions. The tessellating format supports multi-colour specifications — panels in different colours from the 31-colour range can be arranged in patterns, gradients, or random compositions across the honeycomb grid, creating a bespoke visual installation.

The 25mm foam core achieves NRC 0.75 (Sound Absorption Class C), with strong absorption from 500Hz upward: 0.65 at 500Hz, 0.94 at 1000Hz, 1.13 at 2000Hz, and 0.99 at 4000Hz. Panels can be added or removed at the edges of the installation to achieve the required coverage and visual composition.

Installation

Mark the fixing positions on the wall using the panel dimensions as a guide. For tessellating grid installations, plan the layout on paper or digitally before marking fixing positions on the wall. Ensure fixing positions are located on solid wall structure or appropriate noggins — do not fix into plasterboard alone without appropriate cavity fixings.

For mirror plate fixing: screw the mirror plate to the wall at the marked position using appropriate fixings for the wall construction, and hang the panel on the mirror plate. Check that the panel hangs level before finalising the fixing position.

For tessellating grid installations, use a spirit level and spacers to ensure consistent alignment between panels. Mark all fixing positions before installing any panels to ensure the grid is correctly set out across the wall surface.
