PVC Jointing Tape is a self-adhesive black tape used to seal the joints between sheets of acoustic matting, soundproofing underlays, and barrier membranes. Sealing joints is a critical step in any acoustic floor, wall, or ceiling installation — any gap or unsealed join in the membrane layer creates a direct path for sound to bypass the treatment, reducing the overall performance of the assembly.

At 50mm wide, the tape provides sufficient overlap across standard butt joins between sheets. Each roll provides 33 linear metres of coverage.

Applications

• Acoustic floor assemblies — tape all joins between sheets of UpRoll, SilentCork3, SilentMat16, and other acoustic underlays and mats before laying the finish floor. Unsealed joins allow airborne noise to pass through the floor assembly at the joint line.
• Mass Loaded Vinyl installations — tape all butt joins between MLV sheets on walls, floors, and ceilings to maintain barrier continuity. Any gap in the MLV layer significantly reduces the sound reduction performance of the membrane.
• Wall and ceiling assemblies — use to seal joins in acoustic matting and barrier materials within wall and ceiling build-ups where a continuous membrane layer is required.
