The NOR833 is a single-actuation automatic drop seal designed for retrofit installation to the underside of hinged acoustic glass doors with 20mm glass thickness. It shares the same housing profile and actuation mechanism as the NOR830/831/832 under-glass mount family, but is specifically sized for 20mm glass — the thickest glass thickness in the hinged glass door drop seal range. Maximum gap coverage is 12mm, marginally greater than the 11mm of the thinner glass variants, reflecting the slightly different geometry of the 20mm glass underside mounting position. The housing is bonded to the underside face of the glass door leaf.

The NOR833 housing is manufactured from aluminium with a silicone gasket, supplied in silver anodised (C 0) or stainless steel-coloured anodised (C 31) finish. The housing profile is 15.4 × 27mm. Standard lengths are 708mm, 833mm, 958mm, 1083mm, and 1208mm, with a 125mm cutback. Single actuation. Bonded with adhesive (not supplied). Applications

• Hinged acoustic glass doors — 20mm glass, under-glass mounting — bond to the underside face of the 20mm hinged glass door leaf to seal the gap between the door bottom and the floor when the door is in the closed position. 20mm glass is typically used in higher-specification acoustic glass doorsets where greater sound reduction is required from the glass leaf itself — the NOR833 is the appropriate bottom seal specification for these assemblies. Select the appropriate length for the door leaf width, accounting for the 125mm cutback at the actuator end.
• Retrofit installation on existing 20mm hinged glass doorsets — the bonded fixing method allows the NOR833 to be installed on existing glass door leaves without drilling or screwing into the glass.

Installation

Select the appropriate seal length for the door leaf width, accounting for the 125mm cutback at the actuator end. Clean the underside face of the 20mm glass door leaf thoroughly — the surface must be dry, grease-free, and free from contamination before bonding. Apply a suitable structural adhesive (not supplied) to the housing and press it firmly onto the underside face of the glass, ensuring correct alignment. Allow the adhesive to cure fully before operating the door.

Once cured, close the door and check that the actuator engages the door stop cleanly and the seal carrier drops to make full contact with the floor. Check that the carrier retracts fully on opening. The greater glass thickness of the 20mm leaf means the underside face is further from the floor than on thinner glass variants — confirm the 12mm gap coverage is sufficient for the floor gap present before installation.
